Regenerating salt is pure crystallised sea salt, without flow agents, synthetic colours or other additives.
For regenerating the ion exchanger in the dishwasher.
Application
Every dishwasher has an ion exchanger built into it that captures the hardness ions in the water, calcium and magnesium, and directs soft water into the dishwasher. This is to prevent limescale from forming on glasses and cutlery. If the ion exchanger is saturated with calcium and magnesium ions, the absorption capacity must be restored by regeneration. For this purpose, regeneration salt is used, which exchanges the hardness ions and thus ensures optimal washing results.
Dose
As soon as the salt requirement indicator lights up in the dishwasher, fill the designated salt container with regeneration salt according to the machine manufacturer's instructions for use.
Experience has shown that there are machines that indicate the need for salt very late. To prevent this, regeneration salt should be refilled regularly, even if the indicator has not yet come on. If the salt container was completely empty, you should wait around 2 hours after refilling before using the machine again so that the ion exchanger has enough time to regenerate.
Set the dishwasher's water softener 8 °dH / 15 °fH higher than the actual water hardness.

The chambers for regeneration salt and rinse aid should always be full.
Biodegradability
Table salt is a natural component of our waters. Although table salt is mineral in nature and does not need to be broken down further, it does contribute – albeit to a relatively small extent – to increasing the salt load in our water. With medium water hardness, around 40-50 g of salt enter the wastewater per flush.

Our regeneration salt is extracted from seawater saltworks in Tunisia, the so-called 'salt gardens'. Here, the seawater is evaporated by solar heat until a concentrated brine is created. This brine is fed into crystallization tanks, where the crystallized salt is then harvested. It is then washed, dried, sieved and packaged. As a concentrated solution in the dishwasher's salt container, it exchanges the bound calcium and magnesium ions for the sodium ions of the regeneration salt, so that the ion exchanger can once again supply soft water.
